This is to let you know that Telehealth is available with a current GP Mental Health Plan (GPMHP) and will be bulk billed for eligible clients until at least September 2020. I will be resuming face to face consults on Saturday 11 July in my rooms at Robina Town Medical Centre, as well as conducting consultations by phone or video. The guidelines are that patients will need a current GPMHP that can be done by your GP Telehealth as well Workcover, Open Arms and DVA support telehealth consultations as well.
I have previously used Telehealth for clients, so the switch so far has been relatively seamless. Please be assured that I am doing everything possible to remain up to date regarding all aspects of Telehealth knowledge, security etc.

I was a Student Counsellor at Bond University for 12 years before going into private practice at Robina Town Medical Centre. I employ a warm, empathetic counselling style, adopting a flexible approach, tailored to suit my clients’ needs. I draw on a variety of treatment approaches including Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Mindfulness Approaches. and I have a particular interest in Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR).

Sessions usually last 50 minutes and the time between sessions is decided after completion of the initial session. In the first session, Kate typically gathers information about what brings you to therapy, your concerns, what’s been going on in your life and any symptoms and significant experience.
Phone & video counselling
Phone and video counselling, also known as telehealth or online counselling, is effective, confidential and convenient if you live in a rural or remote area, or it doesn’t suit you to visit a clinic in person. Sessions usually last 50 minutes and all you need is a computer, internet connection and a private room.
