EMDR by Telehealth
Online EMDR Therapy Across Australia
I'm an Accredited EMDR Practitioner offering EMDR by video to clients anywhere in Australia.
How It Works
How Online EMDR Works
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is a structured, evidence-based therapy for working through distressing memories. The World Health Organization recommends it for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
Online EMDR follows the same eight phases as EMDR in my rooms. The difference is that we meet by video. I use Bilateral Base, an online platform for delivering EMDR's bilateral stimulation.
If you would like to read more about EMDR itself, my EMDR therapy page covers the eight phases and the research behind it, and what to expect in an EMDR session walks through a session in detail.
Before We Begin
Checking Online EMDR Is Right for You
Before starting EMDR online, I'll assess whether telehealth is a good fit for you, as some people are better supported in person. We'll talk it through together, and if working online isn't the right fit, I'll let you know and we can look at other options.
EMDR isn't the right fit for everyone or at every point in time. We'll talk about whether it suits you before we begin, and it can be combined with other approaches such as CBT and ACT.
Getting Ready
What You'll Need

Somewhere quiet where you won't be overheard or interrupted during your session.
A Device
A computer or tablet with a camera and microphone.
A Reliable Connection
An internet connection that is steady enough for a video call.
Who It's For
Who Online EMDR May Suit
Working online may suit you if:
- You live in a regional or remote area, or in another state
- You feel more comfortable talking from home
- Travelling to an appointment is hard to fit around work, study or caring for others
If you're in Brisbane and would rather meet face to face, I also offer EMDR therapy in person in New Farm.
