For Referrers
Information for Referrers
For GPs, psychologists and other practitioners who would like to refer a client to me.
Who I See
I see adults and adolescents for a range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, grief and loss, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). I have a particular interest in complex trauma and EMDR, and I am an Accredited EMDR Practitioner.
I am registered with AHPRA, and I am a registered provider for Medicare Better Access, DVA, WorkCover and private health funds.
How to Refer
GPs: please address a Mental Health Treatment Plan referral to Kate Bartlett and send it by email to hello@katebartlett.com.au, through Medical Objects secure messaging, or by fax to (07) 3358 1311.
Your patient or client is also welcome to contact me directly, through the contact form on my website or on (07) 3358 2982.
A referral is not needed to see me. To claim Medicare rebates, clients need a Mental Health Treatment Plan or Chronic Condition Management Plan from their GP.
EMDR Alongside Existing Therapy
I often work alongside other psychologists and counsellors, providing EMDR for their clients while they continue their usual therapy. With the client's consent, I can keep in touch with you about how things are going.
If you would like to refer a client for EMDR, please get in touch.
Adult ADHD Assessments
I offer ADHD assessments for adults. An assessment takes place over several appointments and includes standardised questionnaires, a structured diagnostic interview and a written report with the outcome and recommendations, which the client can choose to share with their GP or other health professionals.
An assessment may or may not result in a diagnosis of ADHD. Psychologists do not prescribe medication.
Telehealth
I see clients by phone and video anywhere in Australia. I offer EMDR by video using Bilateral Base, and I first assess whether working online suits the client, as some people are better supported in person.
Keeping You Informed
With the client's consent, I will keep you informed about how things are going. For clients referred under a Mental Health Treatment Plan, I write to the referring GP as Medicare requires.
